IWC has long occupied a special place among watch manufacturers - a place that it owes to the values that its founder, Florentine Ariosto Jones, instilled back in 1868: fine engineering, foresight and innovation, and an excellent production system. The watch that we have the pleasure of offering here represents the culmination of those values.
The Ingenieur draws inspiration directly from IWC's passion for mechanical engineering. The model was first introduced in the 1950s to meet the needs of engineers and scientists, so it boasted a shock-resistant movement, a robust, water-resistant stainless steel case, and an impressive anti-magnetic rating.

The ref IW372501 Ingenieur Chronograph follows the aforementioned formula, but it updates it for the new Millenium, if not for the one after. Having been thought up by legendary designer Gerald Genta, it is especially visually striking, resembling no other timepiece that preceded it. That's little wonder, of course, since Genta's geometric design language sets his work apart from his forefathers', which is why he is so influential to contemporary Haute horology. Following IWC's well-established standards, the IW372501 is a masterfully crafted and versatile timepiece that shows remarkable attention the detail. The black dial features a pleasing texture at its center and is adorned with broad sword hands and applied indices. The latter's polished finish contrasts the hairline-finished case and ties the overall design together perfectly.
