I have hundreds of watches in mind, a wish list as long as a river, and an empty bank account...
When I was 6 or 7, my father explained to me the difference between mechanical and quartz watches, and I was amazed that such a small thing tied to my wrist could come to life through the simple movement of my body. My watch is alive because I am alive. I don't know if I'll ever find such a strong connection or intimate relationship with any other object.
When I moved to Switzerland and started working at Omega HQ almost 20 years ago, I was told early on that once you enter the world of watchmaking, you never leave it. It's totally true.
My whole personality is built on emotions. So when I look at a new watch, I'm mostly focused on how I feel about it, what emotions it brings out in me, how the watch creates this response, and why I feel the way I do. It's like a work of art: it touches your soul, though you can't always explain the raw feeling overwhelming you. This is the kind of experience and story I like to live and share. I also love history because it allows me to understand (almost) everything regarding a brand, a watch, a context, and how both society and industry evolve.
