This past Wednesday was a day to remember for watch-loving New Yorkers. Why is that? Our loyal readers might remember that we hosted two fantastic get-togethers in Germany and London in 2018. As a result, our goal for 2019 was to host a successful event in one of the world’s most exciting cities: New York. I’m happy to report that we achieved that goal. Chrono24’s third get-together took place on June 5th at Manhattan’s illustrious Dear Irving on Hudson. We met many Chrono24 users, watch collectors, and friends. If you weren’t able to attend, here’s a short recap of the evening.
Why New York?
After two successful events in Karlsruhe and London, it was only logical for us to take the next step and stage our first get-together outside of Europe. New York City was the obvious choice, especially since Chrono24 has a satellite office in the Big Apple in addition to its Berlin and Hong Kong locations. With the help of our American colleagues, we were able to organize a night to remember for watch lovers.

Even though the event didn’t officially start until 7:30 PM, the venue was already packed by 7:00. Speaking of which, our colleagues from New York picked the perfect location: the classy and trendy Dear Irving on Hudson. It offers great drinks, an awesome interior, and breathtaking views of the city. However, a successful GTG requires more than just an outstanding venue – it also needs a great speaker. Our previous guests of honor, Eric Wind and Roger Smith, set the bar pretty high. For New York, we asked author, TV personality, watch fan, and all-around nice guy Matt Hranek to come and address the crowd. He was the perfect fit; it’s as fun listening to Matt’s stories as it is engaging with him one-on-one. Judging by the crowd’s reaction, our guests enjoyed his talk, too.
Watches!
Of course, no Chrono24 get-together is complete without one final ingredient: watches. Most attendees came with one or two special pieces on their wrists. At first, guests were slightly reluctant to share their full collections; however, after a cocktail or two, the watch rolls and travel cases slowly made their way onto the tables. The selection of timepieces at the event was out of this world. No matter your budget or taste in watches, you were sure to find something to drool over. The crowd was equally open and welcoming. Being a watch enthusiast is so much more than owning the most expensive or rarest timepieces; all it takes is an honest love and appreciation for watches.
Our Virtual Showroom allows you to try on selected timepieces from the comfort of your own home.
What about the next GTG?
As the clock approached midnight, we said goodbye to the final guests, thus concluding Chrono24’s New York Get-Together. We had a great time and hope our guests did as well. We’ll be back with information about our next GTG soon. In the meantime, make sure you check out our articles about the last two GTGs here and here. There are also two video recaps about the Karlsruhe and London events. Our recap video for the New York GTG is coming soon.
